Welcome to Van Java Furniture! These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our Shopify website www.vanjavafurniture.co.uk and your purchase of our hardwood and resin table sets and chairs in the UK. By accessing our site or placing an order, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully—they don’t affect your statutory rights under UK law.

We’re a UK-based business crafting unique pieces of art with hardwood and resin, inspired by Javanese craftsmanship.
2. Use of Our Website
- Access: Use our site for lawful purposes only. Do not misuse it (e.g., hacking, introducing viruses).
- Content: All content (images, text, designs) is owned or licensed by us. Do not reproduce without permission.
- Accuracy: We strive for accuracy, but errors may occur. Images are illustrative, and each item is unique.
3. Ordering & Payment
- How to Order: Purchase ready-made items or request custom designs through our website. Orders are confirmed once payment is received.
- Pricing: All prices are in GBP and include VAT (if applicable). Prices may change without notice but won't affect confirmed orders.
- Payment: We accept Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, and Shopify Payments. Custom orders may require a deposit (e.g., 30%), with the balance due before shipping.
- Custom Designs: Lead times vary (usually 4–6 weeks for standard designs). Timelines will be confirmed after your order.
4. Delivery
- Shipping: We deliver across mainland UK via specialist couriers. Installation is included. Additional charges may apply for Highlands, Islands, or NI.
- Kerbside Delivery: Items are delivered to your property’s edge. You are responsible for moving them indoors. Two people are recommended.
- Lead Times: Ready-made items ship in 4–6 weeks. Custom orders may take longer.
- Risk & Ownership: Risk passes to you upon delivery. Ownership transfers once payment is complete.
5. Returns & Cancellations
- Ready-Made Items: You have 14 days to cancel and return unused items in original condition (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). Return shipping is your responsibility unless the item is faulty.
- Custom Orders: Cannot be returned due to their bespoke nature. Cancellation is only allowed within 48 hours before production starts.
- Faulty Goods: We will refund, repair, or replace items that are faulty or not as described (Consumer Rights Act 2015).
- Process: Contact sales@vanjavafurniture.co.uk to begin a return or cancellation.
6. Our Responsibilities
- Quality: We guarantee that our furniture matches the description and is fit for purpose. Natural variations (like wood grain) are not defects.
- Liability: We are liable for direct losses due to our negligence or contract breach. Not responsible for indirect losses or issues beyond our control. Liability is limited to the order value.
- Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays due to events outside our control (e.g., strikes, natural disasters).
7. Your Responsibilities
- Provide accurate delivery and contact information.
- Ensure proper access for delivery (e.g., no narrow stairs for heavy items).
- Follow care instructions provided with the furniture. Misuse voids any fault claim.
8. Intellectual Property
- Custom design concepts are yours, but the final product and its craftsmanship are Van Java’s intellectual property.
- Do not use our product images or designs commercially without permission.
9. Privacy
We process your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. By ordering, you consent to our use of your information for order fulfillment and support.
10. Changes & Termination
- We may update these terms—please check back regularly. Changes won’t affect existing orders.
- We reserve the right to suspend your account for any terms violation (e.g., fraud).
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by English law. Disputes will be resolved in UK courts. Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
